Emergency First Aid Work

Course aims : This Emergency First Aid at Work Course  is fully- regulated through Qualsafe awards, Ofqual and RQF framework. It gives the delegates the skills and the confidence to respond to a range of accidents and first aid emergencies they could encounter in the workplace in line with the UK & European Resuscitation guidelines.

Course Pre-requisites: There is no prior learning required but delegates must be over 16 years of age.

Target Audience: This course is designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations in a smaller low risk environment.  Example: Managers, Supervisors, Support Workers, Team leaders, Healthcare professionals, Care workers, Sports Professionals, Personal Trainers, School staff team,  Construction Industry workers and Beauty Therapists.

This course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies, in line with the UK & European Resuscitation guidelines.

Course Pre-requisites: There is no prior learning required but delegates must be over 16 years of age.

Target Audience: This course is designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. Certification : On completion of the course, delegates will receive an Ofqual Approved Certification through Qualsafe Awards: QA Level 3 Award in  First Aid at Work (RQF) which is valid for 3 years.

The certification should be renewed by attendance on a two-day Requalification course before the expiry date of the certificate. Attendance on a three-day First Aid At Work course will be necessary if validity has lapsed.

First Aid at Work Re-qualification-Blended learning updates the First Aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work Certification. It includes 6 hours of online pre-learning and 6 hours of practical face to face training with one of our experienced trainers.

 

First Aid At Work Annual Refresher

The aim of this course is to refresh delegates knowledge and skills to administer safe and effective lifesaving First Aid in their working environment in line with UK & European Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Target Audience: This course is designed for those that have done any type of first Aid course in the past .A First Aid Refresher course enables to learn all the essential first aid skills. HSE strongly recommends the annual refresher training while not mandatory.

Administering Emergency Oxygen

Course Aims :This is fully regulated through Qualsafe Awards and is a nationally recognised qualification that provides delegates with the skills and knowledge needed to safely administer medical oxygen in an emergency.

Course Pre-requisites: The delegates must be First aiders or emergency services personnel.

Course Duration: Half Day (3 hours) | Trainer: Delegates Ratio 1:12 (Max)

Target Audience: The QA Level 3 Award in Administration of Oxygen (RQF) which is valid for 1 year. This course has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for the treatment and/or management of casualties who need administration of emergency medical oxygen.

The qualification is suitable for first aiders operating in a high risk environment, community first responders, cabin/film crew, fire, police and other emergency services personnel.

Course Content: On successful completion of this course the delegates will develop skills and confidence in the following :

Understand the principles of administering oxygen in an emergency | Clinical need for oxygen | Oxygen delivery devices | To be able to demonstrate safe administering of emergency oxygen using required equipment | Demonstrate CPR using oxygen, bag valve mask and AED

Assessment Methods: Continued ongoing assessment by the trainer, practical assessment and learner workbook.

Certification : On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a ‘QA Level 3 Award in Administration of Oxygen (RQF)’ which is valid for 1 year.

*While achievement of this qualification confirms Learners have met both the theoretical and practical requirements, this does not imply a ‘license to practice’ – the scope of practice will be determined by the organisation responsible for oxygen provision. This qualification does not allow a Learner to obtain, store or administer oxygen without clinical governance.

 

Mini Medics® - First Aid For Children

This is a very basic introduction to First Aid and Defibrillation for children and aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 11, but it can suit children of any age.

Course Aims: The course is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies. The course will show complete respect for the child’s ability, make it educational and practical, and instil the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured.

Course Duration:  1 hour course session that covers theoretical and practical sessions. 3 hour course delivered over 2 or 3 sessions, dependent on the syllabus chosen. Educational, theoretical and practical sessions will be delivered.

Target Audience: This flexible course is aimed at: KS2 students (8-11 years)

  • Organisations such as Cubs and Brownies
